Dr. Dwayne Hodges, USA (Ret.) CISSP, CCISO

Dr. Dwayne Hodges is the CEO an Founder of Wellspring Services, a SDVOSB and Co- Founder and COO

11 Series Cyber, an 11 Series Energy Company, an 8A and SDVOSB.

As a young child, Dwayne traveled around the world, domestically and abroad, lived in many cities and had the unique opportunity to attend several schools while his father was proudly serving in the United States Air Force (USAF). Dwayne’s father retired after 20 years. Dwayne comes from a legacy of military service men including his uncle and both his grandfathers who served in the U.S. Army. Dwayne considers himself a native New Yorker and was Baptized in the Church of England. Growing up in upstate New York and playing in the woods along with his military father had a lasting impression on him and he enlisted in the U.S. Army straight out of High School.  


Dwayne’s 20+ career was highlighted by success. As an enlisted military police officer, Dwayne excelled at everything he did and was honor graduate from the Basic Non-Commission Officer Course (BNCOC).  His performance while a team leader and squad leader earned him a direct commission to 2LT very early in his career.


Serving during a period of persistent global conflict, Dwayne was still an enlisted Soldier at the time of the attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11, like many Americans, he was outraged, and he was determined to make the military a career going forward.


As a young 2LT Dwayne excelled during his first year as an officer at Fort Gordon, where he earned the German Armed Forces Expert Infantry Badge and the 300 Excellence Physical Fitness Award. Dwayne went on to serve in a various assignments and key vantage point positions, to include, but not limited to, Platoon Leader, Infantry Battalion Communications and Electronics Officer, Task Force Signal Communications Officer, Camp David Accords-Duty Investigation for the Sinai Peninsula, Battalion S-3, Battalion S-4 , Company Commander, Battalion Executive Officer, Infantry Brigade Combat Team Transportation Officer, Joint Area Support Group Transportation Officer, S-6 Staff Officer,  J-6 Staff Officer, IT project Officer , IT  Program Manager, Information Assurance Manager, Computer Network Defense Team Chief, Information System Security Engineer/Manager, and directly supporting the U.S. Ambassador  to Iraq  and advising the Senior Advisor to the Chief of Mission during OIF for U.S. military and U.S State Department rotary wing operations while deployed.   


Dwayne’s held several critical skills during his military tenure to include 88M, 95B, 53A, 25A, 88A, and 90A.  He is a United States Paratrooper, United States Pathfinder, JPME qualified, and a graduate of several schools: United States Army Command and General Staff College, United States Army Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, the Signal Communications School/School Information Technology, United States Army Signal Center, the, United States Army Transportation School, the United States Army Military Police School. After over 20 years military service, Dwayne was forced to medically retire from the Army from combat related injuries.


Dwayne continued the good fight as a civilian and is a Senior cybersecurity executive, VCISO, Trusted Advisor, Board member, and a University Professor. He has extensive education, training, experience, with the business acumen working in the commercial, government, military agencies. He is knowledgeable across multiple cybersecurity and business domains with a proven leadership record of success as a senior leader, to include consulting members of leadership, including CEO(s), CIO(s), CISO(s), SES(s) and other members of senior management.  He holds an Active government Top-Secret Clearance and has extensive experience working within the international community.  Dwayne holds several industry certifications to include, Certified CISO, CISSP, CEH, ITIL, CNDA, and a Register Practitioner with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification- Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB).


Dwayne is a Tedx speaker, published author, and featured speaker for State of Cyber Security discussions, actively contributes to the National Institute for Standard and Technology, with experience testifying in front on the National Academy of Science on cybersecurity threats.  Dr. Hodges is the Technical Editor for CISSP Exam Cram for Pearson Education North America and Featured 5 Star Cyber Instructor for Udemy for Business collection. Dr. Hodges is the author of several publications in cybersecurity to include an Executive Position in Military Leadership.  Dr. Hodges holds a Doctor of Education, a Master of Science in Information Systems, a Master of Science in Public Administration, and A BA In Sociology and Criminal Justice.


He is a professor in higher education and very active on the Advisory Board Member for Florida Institute of Technology, College of Psychology and Liberal Arts (CoPLA) in several committees and programs to include the Army ROTC program.


Dwayne is happily married with 3 kids and grandson. Dwayne and his Wife, Marisol, reside in Melbourne, FL and have daughter currently attending University of Tampa and a Son attending the University of Miami.  In his spare time, he likes to fish and travel, and play outdoors.
